Through the use of the smallest plots leading to an open, almost gardened landscape, the territory has experienced a gradual abandonment of terraced meadows and valley bottoms, followed by cultivated areas. Refusing wasteland as an unavoidable evolution, the inhabitants and elected officials decided to take action and give themselves the means to create a living environment that aligns with the current lifestyle. This is how the progression of wasteland and afforestation was able to be slowed down.
