This circuit introduces urbanized sectors from different periods and natural areas close to the homes. Bourtzwiller was born from a hamlet around a tile factory (created by Sébastien Bourtz in 1779), which was part of the municipality of Illzach and only became independent in 1928. In 1947, the municipality of Bourtzwiller was freely attached to Mulhouse, of which it is currently a neighborhood.
