The hilly countryside, which stretches throughout the region, is rich in picturesque sites. Marlenheim, which opens the Wine Route, has large bourgeois residences ranging from the end of the Gothic period to the Baroque era. The mountain that follows the Stephansberg is crowned with a tower of the optical telegraph Strasbourg-Paris. After crossing the Ackerland and the back Kochersberg, agricultural land, the route successively leads to the Roman buildings of Saint-Jean Saverne and Marmoutier.
Saverne and the Château des Rohan, then Wasselonne and its historic center mark the end of the circuit. It should also be noted that it is in the Kronthal pass that the pink sandstone used for the construction of Strasbourg Cathedral was extracted.
