Starting from Balbronn, follow the yellow ring markings through the villages and vineyards of the Northern Gateway to the Alsace Wine Route and don't hesitate to stop by the winemakers you meet along the way. The Loejele hike gets its name from a small wooden barrel once used to carry drinks in the fields, vineyards, and forests.
