From La Ferté-Milon to Ourcq and Clignon

Very close to Paris, the listed city of La Ferté-Milon is located on a hill overlooking the Ourcq, starting point for an encounter with the rivers and canals of Valois, Omois and Orx: a journey that combines the memory of Racine, the life of boatmen, the charm of old watermills and the glorious remains of commanderies, abbeys or castles. From the immense façade built by the Duke of Orleans at La Ferté-Milon to the small Clignon canal with a miniature canal bridge, the route hesitates between water and forest, lively villages and places of contemplation, such as the abbey of Cerfroid.
