Multi-day motorcycle route along alternative paths from Paris to La Rochelle. According to legend, the Paris-La Rochelle route is said to be the path that the treasure of the Knights Templar took after the infamous Friday the 13th.

The reason why Friday the 13th is considered an unlucky day originates from the year 1307. On Friday, October 13, 1307, many Knights Templar were arrested in bulk by the marshals of Philip the Fair, King of France.

Philip the Fair had sent numerous sealed letters to his marshals that could only be opened the evening before October 13, 1307. This fit into the plan to eliminate the Knights Templar due to heresy.

Apparently, there were leaks, as the Knights Templar managed to smuggle a considerable amount of documents. Additionally, they succeeded in smuggling their famous treasure from Paris to La Rochelle, the fleet base of the Knights Templar. There, 18 galleys disappeared without a trace along with the "treasure of the Knights Templar".

Nevertheless, this was the beginning of the end of the official existence of the Knights Templar. In the following years, the Knights Templar were convicted of heresy, and in 1312 the order was officially dissolved by Pope Clement V.
