You drive the road from south to north, it is in the same direction as Napoleon at the time.
The first night from Belgium was in Vernioz south of Lyon, along the Route du Soleil, and then south to Grasse, the actual starting point of the route.
Sometimes very mountainous, with hairpin bends and phenomenal views.
