Foetz - Mamirolle - Besançon

This route takes you from Southern Luxemburg to Besançon, capital of the French department of Doubs.
The first part of the route (up until Nancy) is influenced by mountainous region of Lorraine and makes for a fun and by times challenging way through authentic villages and over some magnificent roads. From Nancy onwards you navigate through flatter landscapes, where the road changes between breathtaking twists and turns, and fast straits.

It takes about 5 - 8 hours of riding, depending on your riding style. Ride safely, especially taking into account the safety of others in the small villages you'll pass and the deer that can pop-up anywhere along the route.

The voyage begins at the gas station of Cora in Foetz, Luxembourg. We then ride towards the city of Metz, France. After about 150 kilometers a second gas stop is set in a suburb just south of Nancy.
From here on we go trough a nice scenery making way to Mamirolle (another gas station). It's only a short way from here to the city of Besançon, with its famous cathedral. Here plenty of sleeping/ eating/ drinking/ resting options exist.
