Brive-la-Gaillarde is a southern French town located approximately 90 kilometers south of Limoges. The city has a well-preserved historic center that used to be surrounded by forests, but whose fortresses have now been replaced by large boulevards to ease traffic flow. During the second world war, Brive-la-Gaillarde was the regional headquarters of the resistance and it was also the first city that managed to free itself from German rule. Today there are still a lot of sights in the city such as the Collégiale Saint-Martin de Brive-la-Gaillarde, the Monument Aux Morts, the Hôtel de Ville, ... and a full range of other gems that make a visit to this city definitely worthwhile!
