Description by the author

Camping La Brouquere => Courrensan => Lannepax => Vic Fezensac => Marambat => Justian => Roques => Camping La Brouquere (44km).

This cycling route leads you past various authentic stone houses (maison and pierre) in the area. Some of these magnificent pieces of architecture have already been beautifully renovated, while others are still waiting for a major makeover.

First the tour takes you to Courrensan, where at the foot of the hill there is a beautiful view of the old walls of the village. Then the route continues towards the bastide of Lannepax with its typical rectangular shape. Here is a good time for a short break to breath in the leisurely atmosphere of this typical bastide. There is a small but excellent restaurant in the square serving great lunches.

After Lannepax the bike ride goes to Justian, or, for those who want to take the longer route, to Vic Fezensac. Right in the center of Vic Fezensac is the turn of to the D35 (direction Gondrin and Mouchan). First follow the D35 past the swimming pool and the horse racing track and then turn right towards Marambat (Marambat is not indicated at this junction, but there is a sign in the other direction to an Ebinesterie). This road crosses a small bridge and then climbs to Marambat where the route turns left on the D112. Follow this D112 for about 1km after a sharp hairpin bend and turn left there to Justian.

Both the shorter and longer route will eventually pass through Justian and continue further along very quiet roads to Roques. On the way back to the campsite, the route also leads past a small medieval wash-house, a so-called 'Lavoir'. Also just south of Lannepax, the (longer) route leads past such a restored Lavoir.

The roads are asphalted and generally in good condition. But here and there you will still find the occasional pothole in the road. A bicycle with somewhat wider tires is ideal for this route.
