In Glastonbury, the tombs of King Arthur and Guinevere were discovered in 1191. Here you also see the ruins of a Gothic abbey. The cathedral was abandoned by Henry VIII in 1539 when he broke with the Pope and when he founded the Anglican church. Due to this act, the graves of King Arthur and Guinevere disappeared.
