-HOUSES OF PARLIAMENT.- “The Houses of Parliament”. Gothic Revival style. The building houses both chambers of Parliament:
-House of Commons.- Members are elected by direct votes. The benches are upholstered in green leather. 438 seats. The government sits on the left and the opposition on the right. The speaker presides from the center.
-House of Lords.- Representatives with life and hereditary titles. It has one thousand seats upholstered in red leather. During the opening ceremony of Parliament, the queen delivers a speech before the chamber.
Access to the rooms is restricted during sessions. It can only be visited with a special permit. The entrance is through St. Stephen. It is closed during Holy Week. Photography is not allowed.
It has two towers: Clock Tower and Victoria Tower (102 m.).
