The Soho House was one of the locations where the Lunar Society had its meetings. The Lunar Society was founded by Erasmus Darwin, the grandfather of Charles Darwin. The house was of Matthew Boulton, an English manufacturer and engineer. The building is now a museum (opened in 1995), celebrating his life, his partnership with James Watt and his membership of the Lunar Society.
