Ebbesbourne Wake is a village and civil parish in Wiltshire, England, some 10 miles south-west of Salisbury, near the head of the valley of the small River Ebble. The parish includes the hamlets of Fifield Bavant and West End.
Records from Saxon times, about 826 CE, show that the Chalke Valley area was thriving. The village name of Eblesburna was probably derived from a man called Ebbel, who may have owned land near the bourne – the word bourne derives from the Old English "brunna".
