Thorpe Bassett is a village and civil parish in the Ryedale
district of the county of North Yorkshire, England. It was historically part of the East Riding of Yorkshire until 1974. It is located between York and Scarborough in the North East of England. Surrounded by farmland the small village is home to 105 residents at the 2011 census. An increase of 4 since the 2001 census.
Thorpe Bassett is part of the Rillington ward an electoral division of Ryedale District Council which is currently represented by Cllr Nathan Garbutt Moore.
