Knott End-on-Sea is situated on the southern side of Morecambe Bay, across the Wyre estuary from Fleetwood. The village is in fact the main commercial centre for the Over Wyre area. As well as a variety of shops and cafes, Knott End has its own pub (the Bourne Arms), county library, NatWest bank and golf club. Hackensall Hall is reputed to be named after an invading Viking named Haken.
