Maiden Castle was an iron age fort near Dorchester. These impressive earthworks were constructed to build this fort. Maiden Castle is also located on a a so-called ley line. Ley lines are straight lines connecting important (pre)historical sites. Some authors link "magical properties" to these lines. Others argue that it is just a coincidence that some points are on one line, and consider ley lines as pseudoscientific.
