Cardiff Castle (Castell Caerdydd in Welsh) is one of the most famous tourist attractions. The Romans had a settelment here in the first century AD.
From 1766-1947, the castle was the poperty of the Bute family. The second Marquis of Bute tranformed the city of Cardiff in 1913 to the world's largest coal exporting port.
