Queen Elizabeth's Hunting Lodge was built in 1543 by Henry VIII as a hunt standing or grandstand. It is remarkable for its survival in its original forest and surrounded by many ancient pollarded trees some of which may even date back to the 16th century. Inside visitors can enjoy the replica Tudor kitchen with its displays of Tudor foods and upstairs experience the atmosphere and views over Chingford Plain.
