A few years ago the oak beams in Oxford College had to be renewed after about 500 years. The dean knew that Oxford College has numerous forests. He called the responsible forester with the question whether he could supply oak beams. He replied: "I was expecting your question. When building Oxford College 500 years ago one had foreseen this problem and an oak forest was planted at that time. Those trees are now perfect to be used for the new beams.".
