Llyn Cwmystradllyn is fed by several mountain streams and supplies drinking water for the Lln Peninsula. Fishing for brown and (stocked) rainbow trout is available via The Pwllheli & District Angling Association. At the far end can just be seen the remains of the disused Gorseddau Slate Quarry which was first opened in 1807 and subsequently developed by the Bavarian mining engineer Henry Tobias Tschudy von Ulster. The quarry was a complete commercial failure. The quarry closed in 1867
