The Millennium Bridge was designed by architect Sir Norman Foster before the year 2000. It was the first pedestrian bridge to cross the River Thames in over a century. This 325m steel bridge connects the City of London to St. Paul's Cathedral with the Tate Modern Gallery at Bankside.
The bridge made headlines in 2000 when it started to sway due to the wind. It was therefore nicknamed "the wobbly bridge".
In 2006, sound sculpture artist Bill Fontana used the vibrations of the bridge to convert them into music. These can be listened to at the Tate Modern Museum.
