The Central line passes Oxford Circus. Did you know that the Central Line is the hottest metro line in London? It frequently exceeds the legal limit of transporting cattle. But it is still legal to transport people. Temperatures of 36.6°C were measured already in this tube. It's an old line and the engineers at the time didn't have an idea about the heat cumulation in these metro tunnels and the ventilation is too limited. There are a few abandoned metro stations, and the collected heat in these stations is used to heat buildings in the neighborhood.
