From Pont Croesor train request stop to Pothmadog railway station, taking in Portmeirion. Take the Ffestiniog & Welsh Highland railway train from Caernarfon. Alight at Pont Croesor request stop and return to get the train back from Porthmadog. There is an optional spur that takes you to Portmeirion. Note that there are some, unavoidable, more major roads on this route. 10 miles, including Portmeirion spur.
