When cycling the Scottish C2C route from annan to the Forth Bridge (see https://www.sevendaycyclist.com/ultimate-scottish-c2c-guide), several local cyclists suggested this as an alternative route from Moffat to Innerleithen. Granted, it misses out the Devil's Beef Tub, Tweedale, and Peebles, but the logging lorries are fewer, and the local's said that they thought it a prettier route.
