The plane or platanus of Pylos is a beautiful tree used by many Greek and tourist to get some shade. Highly recommended to have a drink. There are actually a number of plane trees in the square. As such there is always a tree large enough to act as the central meeting place on the square. The tree that was the main meeting point in the 80s is now gone and 'replaced' by the more southern tree in the square.
