Although a lot of scenes of the movie Mamma Mia were shot at Skopelos, Damouchari was also used for several scenes. Some of the Damouchari footage was used at the beginning of Mamma Mia when Christine Baranski and Julie Walters arrive on the island and are met by Meryl Streep. It was combined with images shot on Skopelos. The shooting in Damouhari lasted three days and about three hundred people were working together during these days. All shootings took place in the harbour (where they built a kind of wooden marina) and around the big abandoned building that is there.
