Here, the building that is now the Historical Museum of Crete, used to be the family home of an important Greek archaeologist: Minos Karokairinos. He described and discovered Knossos 20 years before Arthur Evans started to praise himself as the great discoverer of Knossos. Arthur Evans wrote books full of his own discoveries in Knossos, but strangely enough was able to say not one word about Minos Karakairinos in those thousands of pages.
