Poets says that the god Hermes was born in a cave on Mount Kyllini. After he was born he left the cave and stole the herd of oxen of his half-brother Apollo. On his way out of the cave, the stumbled over a tortoise, and made a lyre of it. He tought himself to play the instrument. So that's why Hermes is also linked to musicians. But back to the herd. He found the herd in a meadow, and asked them to walk back, so the trace would lead to the meadow, and confuse his half-brother Apollo. Apollo asked his father Zeus for help. Zeus told his son Hermes to give back the herd. Apollo was now more careful garding this herd. He even was hiding them in the cave of Nestor, next to the beautiful bay of Voidokilia.
