The hydrological basin of the Thermisia River is one of the largest in the area. A great deal of water and material is discharged via this basin to the sea, near Thermisia, especially in winter. As a result, a fairly large alluvial fan could be built at the foot of the village of Thermisia. The hydrological basin connects to the Ilei plateau in the NW .
