The Franchthi cave is open on two sides. The sea side is usually chosen as the entrance. The other side ,,,,(exit) shows a clear collapse of the roof of the cave with many limestone boulders chaotically piled on top of each other. You can climb it (be careful because it is not a route without risks) so that you get outside the cave. There you will see a new cave in a southeasterly direction that goes much deeper. You will see a waterhole at the deepest point. That should be about sea level.
