This cycle tour along fully paved roads takes you to the rich agricultural area of the polje of Livadia at the foot of the beautiful mountain village of Karya. The descent from the village of Karya to the polje is one of the most beautiful roads you can do on the island. You cycle in the shade along wonderfully smelling pine trees. The route starts and ends at the folklore museum. I advise you to visit the museum so you can see what kind of tools were used to work the grounds of the polje and to get a good idea of what a mountain dwelling used to look like. It will give you a very good idea about the link between the mountain village and the agricultural fields and crops you will see along your way. Be sure to bring plenty of water, even if it's not a long trip. You don't get many options for a drink. Except again at the end when you arrive in Karya. There you certainly deserve a drink under the refreshing plane trees that overshadow the most beautiful platia of the island.
