Description by the author

The Franchthi cave is a top historical-archaeological site. The first indications of habitation of the cave date back to 40,000 BC.

It is part of the karst complex, which also includes another highlight in this area: the sinkhole of Dydima.

The cave is only accessible via two hiking trails or by boat via a nearby jetty.

This short walk is a bit challenging here and there, especially if you want to visit the second part of the cave. But the walk and the cave is definitely in my personal top 10.
