The Railroadtrip Diakopto-Kalavryta is one of the most beautiful railroadtrips you can make in Europe.
The railroad is a rack railway so it can overcome steep gradients along the gorge it is going through.
It was constructed in the 19th century by the Italians to create a push in the development of the small town of Kalavryta in the mountains.
In the beginning of the 21st century, the track was renovated. It is now a great tourist attraction for the region.
