Prettau is a comune in South Tyrol, a province in northern Italy, located about 80 kilometres northeast of Bolzano, on the border with Austria.
As of 31 December 2015, it had a population of 571 and an area of 86.7 square kilometres . It is the northernmost comune of Italy.
