Prato allo Stelvio (915m; 3000 inhabitants) has developed into a tourist destination due to its favorable location at the entrance to the wide wooded valley of Solda (a right tributary of the Adige), resulting in the near loss of the old village appearance. Noteworthy is the St. Johann church from the 13th century with a characteristic round apse in Romanesque style. The interior features frescoes from around 1400.
