Spa is an abbreviation of the Latin 'salus per aquam', or 'health through water'.
The Fonteverde Natural Spa Resort has its origins in 1607, when Grand Duke Ferdinando I, a member of the illustrious De Medici family, had a villa built here. Since 1900, the baths have been expanded and modernized, and new spaces have been added to the villa. In 2000, a total renovation took place, and today the Fonteverde Natural Spa Resort is adapted to and equipped for the needs of the modern person, offering more than a hundred different treatments.
