The Torre di Gignod or Torre di Calvino is the ruin of a medieval tower of a high castle in the district of Château in the municipality of Gignod in the Aosta Valley. It was one of the many scattered watchtowers in the Aosta Valley, from which the arrival of a possible enemy could be efficiently signaled. The place name can be confusing: the Torre di Gignod was merely a tower subordinate to the lordship of the Lords of Gignod and belonged to the actual Castello di Gignod, which stood on another hill: While the tower has been preserved to this day, the castle served as a quarry for the construction of the village church.
