The Kardaun hydroelectric power plant, also known as the Carlo Cicogna hydroelectric power plant, is a run-of-river power plant in Bolzano in South Tyrol, which is fed by the hydropower of the Eisack River. Cardano is the largest power plant in South Tyrol.
The power plant is located in the municipality of Bolzano in the district of Leitach-Wangg, about 4 km east of the city center near Kardaun, a fraction of the municipality of Karneid. The powerhouse, water tunnel and castle and weirs are located on the right bank of the Eisack, not far from the Brenner motorway. The water catchment is further north in the Kollmann district of the municipality of Barbian.
