The Church of San Salvatore al Monte has been located in the San Niccolò neighborhood of Florence since the 15th century. Like the nearby Church of San Miniato al Monte, it stands high above the city, even above the Piazzale Michelangelo. This is a Franciscan church with an associated monastery complex. The names San Francesco al Monte alle Croci or San Francesana di San Salvatore al Monte alle Croci can also be found.
