The Ettore Conti power plant in Verampio, one of the oldest in Italy, is located in the municipality of Crodo at the confluence of the Toce River and the Devero stream and is the first plant encountered when ascending the Antigorio Valley.
It was built between 1912 and 1914 by Ettore Conti of Verampio, a Milanese entrepreneur who was the first to exploit hydroelectric energy in the Antigorio and Formazza Valleys.
