The Eolian Archaeological Museum is located on the island of Lipari in the Tyrrhenian Sea north of Sicily. The regional museum was established under the direction of Luigi Bernabò Brea in 1954, who was the Superintendent of Eastern Sicily from 1939 to 1973. Therefore, it is also known as the "Luigi Bernabò Brea" Eolian Regional Archaeological Museum, but it is also referred to as the Lipari Eolian Regional Archaeological Museum.
