Kaltenbrunn is a village in the south of South Tyrol, which belongs partly to the municipality of Trodena and partly to the municipality of Montan. The curious course of the border, roughly following the main road, runs lengthwise through the village
Kaltenbrunn is located in the wooded ridge of the Fiemme Alps, which separates the Adige Valley from the Fiemme Valley in the area of the lowlands, northwest below the San Lugano saddle. Kaltenbrunn has the character of a small street village, most of whose few houses are lined up along the SS 48. Directly in Kaltenbrunn the road branches off to the village of Truden, a few hundred meters further in the direction of San Lugano the road to Radein.
