Description

The name is 'Castello Estense' (Castle of the Estes), but since 1598 the famous Este-dynasty has been driven away from Ferrara by the Papal States. So when Queen Christina of Sweden visited the city in November 1655, she was received by the cardinal-legate Alderano Cybo.
