The palace was built with medieval buildings, the pillars and stones of the arches on the outer walls and those around the courtyard can still be recognized. On the outside are several coats of arms, one of the municipality of Pisa and one of the Pia Casa di Misericordia.
In the courtyard is a fragment of a Greek statue on a pedestal, donated by Pietro Miniati in 1994.
