Piazza del Giglio is adjacent to Piazza Napoleone in Lucca.
In the square is a statue of Francesco Carrara.
The Teatro delGiglio is located on the square. The theater hosts an opera season (usually starting in September), a drama season, a dance season and a symphonic music season. It also organizes training activities, including various initiatives and workshops aimed at schools, with the staging of performances for the Children's Theater Department.
Adjacent to the theater and the Auditorium of the old cloister of the Church of San Girolamo is the library with a book collection of about 4000 volumes and a video library with recordings of performances from 1985, the year in which the theater gained recognition as a traditional theater.
