This statue is in Piazza Garibaldi.
The Monument to Garibaldi is a bronze equestrian statue of Giuseppe Garibaldi, the hero of Italian independence, on a plinth in the piazza of the same name on Corso Silvani Fedi, in Pistoia, region of Tuscany, Italy.
Initially, the monument, designed by Alessandro Garella, stood in Piazza San Domenico, but it was moved to this piazza in 1904. In 1909, the wreath was added to the base, which contains an image of fasces. Garibaldi's horse rears up in an active posture, while Garibaldi with cap remains unmoved. Initial plans in 1882 for a monument envisioned a simple bust of the patriot, but others saw more of a dramatic monument, sparking a discussion that lasted for decades. A final design was not chosen until the end of the 19th century. The next debate was over the statue's location, with Catholic lobbies opposing placement of the statue of the anticlerical Garibaldi in the central Piazza del Duomo.
