Description

This medieval gate on Via Sant'Agata and a continuation of Via di Tontanella in Siena is one of the ancient gateways to the city.

Directly opposite is the street fountain of the Contrada Capitana dell'Onda which is shaped like a fish.

In Siena there are 17 Contradas (neighborhoods). Each contrada has its church and fotein in which to be baptized.
