The Fonte del Casato is located at the bottom of a staircase in the Vicolo Fonte in Siena.
From an artistic point of view, the Fonte del Casato is probably the most special of the fountains in Siena, being built in a central zone of the city, but hidden between houses and palaces, at the foot of a long staircase. The fountain was built at the request of the residents of the neighborhood and has always remained hidden, so much so that a Florentine observer during the siege of 1555 did not even mention the fountain on his list of Sienese fountains.
