Description

Porta San Felice bears the name of the saint who, according to legend, accompanied the saints Justus and Clement who came to Volterra to propagate Christianity. The gate has an arch that rests on a kind of tower on one side and on an oratory dedicated to Saint Felix on the other. The inscription to the right of the gate in the cantonment of the walls: AD MD. LXXII: commemorates certain repairs carried out by the municipality.
